August started off with a bang, with both Morton's Harkin and Kingsland earning reserve champion in their respective divisions at the Summer Festival horse show in Caledon with Ellah in the irons. Thanks to Ella McHardy for stepping in to hack Harkin while Julia was away. Though we decided not to compete at Pony Finals this year, we did travel to Kentucky to watch a couple of our grads compete. We were fortunate enough to see Ontario (formerly Dusty Socks) and Olivia Hershey place 18th over fences out of 147 in the large regulars, and Goldhills Arresting Charm almost crack the top 20 in the model for his new little rider, Lily Stoughton, at her first Pony Finals in the small regulars! Returning home, we made it back in time to watch Ellah do her first hunter derby with partner Cupidon in Caledon. Rolling on into Angelstone, Kingsland was champion in the medium ponies at The International with Ellah and Julia aboard, and champion again at The National with Ellah riding over fences and Ava Campbell in the under saddle. This success solidified his position as Angelstone Circuit Champion for the medium ponies for 2018.
